Instagram Drives Revenue For Businesses

Instagram Drives Revenue For Businesses

You may have heard that Instagram drives a lot of business for businesses. However, you may be surprised to learn that it’s true. In fact, many users say they turn to the photo-sharing app first when they’re looking for a way to shop. More than 1 billion users are using Instagram monthly and thousands of businesses on Instagram now — but how can they get more value out of it? How can they use Instagram to drive revenue?

Making Money with Instagram Badges

Hey creator! We’re so excited you’ve joined our creator community. When you go Live with badges, viewers can buy badges to support you and get extra recognition, while you earn money from content you’re already creating. So it’s a win-win–you build up your channel, making it more discoverable, and earn money on top of that!

  • How to get started with badges?

In just a few taps you can turn on badges and start earning on your Live videos.

Step 1: Onboard – go to “Profile” and tap “Professional Dashboard”. If you’re eligible for monetization, you’ll see a button to “Set Up Badges.” If you’re not yet eligible for monetisation, you can apply in-app by tapping “Apply for monetisation” and check your Professional Dashboard for status updates.

Step 2: Go live – once you have access to badges, they will automatically be enabled for your lives. Just add a title and go live!

  • How would you know if you’re eligible?

Step 1: Be 18+, and have 10k+ followers. Check your eligibility by going to your Professional Dashboard.

Step 2: Head to Settings > Creator > Badges to check your invite status. (Access to badges for eligible creators in the UK, France, Spain, Italy, Germany, Japan, Australia, Turkey, Brazil and Mexico is currently invite-only.)

Online Shopping the Instagram Way

This is an exciting development for Instagram – and for brands and retailers who are hoping to reach a larger audience. The Shop Now button may bring in customers already on Instagram, but it could also drive brand awareness through tags, placing the brand front and centre whenever users are looking at a product they like.  But how to do it right?

Instagram Live for IGTV? Why Not?

Have you been doing live streams on Instagram? If so, here’s some good news you might like. You can now share your live videos on Instagram’s new feature, IGTV right after they have been recorded. I would have never thought this could be possible, but guess what? It is!

To share a replay of your live video, tap Share to IGTV at the bottom of the screen once your live video has ended. From here, you can select a cover photo for the video or upload one from your camera roll and just publish your IGTV as usual.

Instagram Revenue-Sharing Plan With Creators through IGTV ads

Exciting news for influencers – especially for those who post to IGTV. With immediate effect Instagram will share 55% of its ad revenue with creators (when ads appear next to their videos).

The social media giant is finally giving influencers and content creators a way to make some scratch on the platform — so long as they share their revenue with Instagram, of course.
